Leafeon Pokemon hoodie cosplay by Bahzi Leafeon Pokemon hoodie cosplay by Bahzi
SOLD!
This is probably one of the hardest designs I've done to date because of the gradient and veins. It's one-of-a-kind and one of the best hoodies I've made, craftsmanship wise.

This Leafeon hoodie is a size medium, unisex/mens.

The hoodie is made from several shades of anti-pill fleece, the eyes and nose are machine embroidered, the brown sleeve cuffs are satin stitched on.

COMMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.

I bought some anti-pill fleece the other day, and I'm currently working on a Leafeon cosplay with it.

I STILL don't know what the anti-pill part means. ^^;

all of your pokemon hoodies are amazing! what kind of embroidery machine do you use for the eyes?

Well thank you! Honestly, it's a really crappy Singer Quantum Futura. The thing won't align correctly anymore and the fill stitches are often patchy. I hear Brother makes some lower-end embroidery machines that are decent though! I was originally looking to buy a Viking, but those start at around a grand. D:

Ah, I actually didn't sell it, but I removed the listing from my etsy shop because I plan to keep it and wear it at Ohayocon. Leafeon's one of my favorites as well, and although the hoodie's a bit big on me, it was one of my best ones and I got a bit attached to it, lol.

Did you hand embroider the eyes?

Nope, they're machine embroidered from a vector I made in Corel Draw. :)

Thanks! :) The ears were machine sewn, and they've got a really thick interfacing fabric in them, about 1/8" thick. On this particular hoodie the ears are sewn to the head spikes to give them extra support because they're so large, but usually just the thick interfacing with keep them from flopping over.

No problem, glad to help! If there's any specific questions you have once you've begun construction, feel free to send me a note. I'm not great at explaining things, but I'll do my best. :)

Ha, that doesn't surprise me. That's probably because it's one of the most complicated Eeveelutions to make something of. I spent so much time on this sucker, to even make $5/hr for the labor, I'd have to price it at like $180. >< Leafeon's probably my favorite of the Eevees anyways, which is why I don't mind wearing it myself, pastel colors or no. XD

Did you have a pattern when embroidering the eyes and face?

I'm not sure what you mean by pattern, exactly. My embroidery machine did the face embroidery, it's all automated. It's basically about getting it an image clean enough to work with. I started with a high resolution official art picture of one of Leafeon's eyes, copy/pasted and flipped it in photoshop for the other eye, doodled in something reasonably symmetrical for the nose, then used Corel Draw to convert it to a vector so it'd be cleaner. From there, my embroidery machine's crappy autopunch software converted it to stitches. Hope that explains the process a bit better, sorry if it's confusing.
